Kathryn LeGrand

President

My name is Kathryn LeGrand and I am the Vice President on the Student Advisory Board. I am a mathematics and computer science double major. I enjoy going to University of Maryland football and basketball games. I also love playing intramural flag football and basketball. I wanted to be on the Student Advisory Board because I wanted to create more events that touch on all the disciplines that the University Honors program has and to make everyone feel a part of this community.

Young Chung

Communications Director, Treasurer

Hello! My name is Young Chung and I am a junior middle school math and science education major. On campus, I am a TA for the Terrapin Teachers program and a lead conferences facilitator for the Maryland LEAD program. When I'm not running across campus, I'm usually listening to my favorite musicals or playing an instrument. I also love traveling and exploring cities. University Honors is such a great program and I am so happy to be a part of this community to give back to the program that has given me so much.

Sabrina Lu

Recruitment and Retention Director

Hi, everyone! My name is Sabrina Lu, and I am a Junior Information Systems major and Data Analytics minor from Potomac, MD. I am very excited to be the recruitment and retention director for this year! In addition to UHSAB, I serve on the ALD&PES Academic Enrichment Committee and the NSCS Executive board. In my free time, I also enjoy playing volleyball recreationally. I love to try new foods and activities, so I really admire how UH allows you to experience a variety of activities and meet people from all walks of life while also providing a community. I hope to help plan events that will make everyone's college experience as a UH student phenomenal, and I look forward to working with UHSAB this year! 

Zaynah Ahmed

Secretary

Zaynah Ahmed is a four-year General Biology major who has found respite from her arduous science classes through various University Honors seminars she's enjoyed since her first semester here. She is a pre-medical student who is a regular member of the Pre-Medical Society and Charles R. Drew Pre-Health Society. She has participated in research on campus as part of the First Year Innovation & Research Experience (FIRE) where she now spends hours as a teaching assistant. She exercises her art by performing in the UM Repertoire Orchestra at The Clarice, where she also works as a student usher. Her favorite on-campus pastime involves reading in the Asian American Literature Club. She is a talented graphic designer and video editor, skills that have been bred through years of hard work, experience, and passion. This is her second year on the UHSAB, where she looks forward to serving the honors community as the UHSAB Secretary.

Olivia Carey

General Member

​My name is Olivia Carey and I am a sophomore Biology major, concentrating in Cell Biology and Genetics. In addition to being a member of the University Honors Student Advisory Board, I am an athlete for the club field hockey team, a member of Cru (a Christian youth organization), and a volunteer for Terps for Change. I am excited to represent the University Honors community as a member on this board, and I look forward to further building the program!​

Courtney Correll

General Member

​​Courtney Correll is a junior Marketing and Operations Management & Business Analytics double major student here at the University of Maryland College Park, with plans to graduate in May 2020. She is also a proud member of University Honors Living & Learning Program. Courtney is involved with many organizations here on campus aside from the University Honors Student Advisory Board, holding leadership roles within Black Business Association, Black Honors Caucus, and Circle K International. In her spare time, Courtney loves to volunteer by tutoring middle school students, as well as hanging out with friends.

Morgan Grizzle

General Member

Morgan is a junior Criminology & Criminal Justice Systems and Psychology double major who plans to attend law school upon graduation. She is excited for a second year serving the UH community. Morgan is also a member of Alpha Lambda Delta & Phi Eta Sigma honor societies, Psi Chi honors society, the Black Student Union, and several other clubs and honor societies. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and binge watching her favorite shows on Netflix.

Isabella Grace Hernandez

General Member

Hi! My name is Isabella Hernandez. I am from Huntingtown,MD, but I was born in Germany. I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Spanish. On campus, I am a HONR100 section leader and a member of the Women in Mechanical Engineering organization. I recently studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, and I highly recommend studying abroad to everyone! My experience with UH has been amazing, everything from the honors seminar to the Student-Faculty dinner to becoming a section leader. I have enjoyed every minute of it, and I can't wait to help with UHSAB this year.

Jake Hirshman

General Member

My name is Jake Hirshman, I'm from Pittsburgh and I am a Junior in the Smith School of Business. I am a Finance and Information Systems double major with a minor in Statistics. I am a member of the Quantitative Finance Fellows Program and in the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity on campus. Outside of class I love playing and watching sports and enjoy traveling and eating. I'm excited to serve as a general member on this board and am looking forward to an exciting year to come in the University Honors program!

Cheyenne Scott

General Member

I am a Junior studying Computer Science and Criminal Justice, with a focus in Cybersecurity. I have been apart of the University Honors College since my freshman year. In addition to school, I am the Departmental Outreach chair for Preventing Sexual Assault, a supervisor for the University Recreation and Wellness, a personal trainer, and play field hockey for the club team. I have a passion for helping others and am working towards a career in the FBI where I can use my talents to protect the nation.
